Ace Restaurant is the daytime side of the Ace of Spades Lounge: brunch seven days a week on the main floor at 291 Harbord and Manning, two very different moods.
The Ace of Spades Lounge has long been a private and live-event room in Palmerston-Little Italy. Ace Restaurant is what happens on the main floor when the the sun is up: a calm, contemporary brunch room with a short, confident menu, served daily from 8:00am (weekdays until 2:00pm, weekends until 1:00pm).
We wanted a neighbourhood place, not a scene. Souffle pancakes that wobble, proper bennys under house hollandaise, a caesar built the way it should be, and coffee that keeps coming. When the weather turns, the patio opens and the whole thing eases into the afternoon.
By night, the lights dim and the room becomes the Lounge again, with a stage, a full bar and bottle service for private parties and live events. Same gold spade on the wall, different hour of the day.
